Pebbles under Water\
I have always been fascinated by the delicate life and smooth pebbles beneath the surface of underwater rivers and streams—a connection deeply rooted in my childhood memories. A recent walk along the river rekindled this inspiration, leading me to create a series of calming, colourful paintings that capture the serene beauty and gentle flow of these natural waterscapes.
As a child, I would spend hours searching the English waterways for fry, usually catfish. The graceful movement of the fish as they swam was utterly mesmerising. Even now, I find myself compelled to pause and look closely, hoping to catch a glimpse of them beneath the water’s surface. This quiet connection to nature has remained a constant source of fascination and calm throughout my life.
Searching for the wildlife
Rekindle my childhood.
I spent most of my childhood holidays at my grandparents’ home, where a gentle river meandered down the back of their garden. Those days were filled with simple joys and timeless memories, marking some of the happiest moments of my youth. The soothing sounds of flowing water and the tranquil surroundings nurtured a deep sense of peace and belonging, inspiring a lifelong appreciation for nature’s quiet beauty.
