New work to come

A new series is coming soon, revisiting the timeless fairy tales we were told as children. This collection explores the enchanting stories that have captivated generations, reimagined through detailed and expressive paintings. The first piece in this series is inspired by “The Black Swan” from the iconic ballet Swan Lake, capturing the dramatic intensity and ethereal beauty of the character. This work reflects both the mysterious allure and the tragic depth of the tale, inviting viewers to experience the narrative anew through fine art.

”Baby in the womb.” 1991.

Created in pottery class at age 14, this piece draws profound inspiration from the earliest photographs of a child in the womb and the meticulous anatomical sketches of Leonardo da Vinci. The work captures the delicate beginnings of life with a thoughtful blend of scientific observation and artistic expression, reflecting both the vulnerability and complexity of human development. Through smooth, organic forms and subtle details, the piece invites contemplation on birth, growth, and the timeless fascination with the human body.

In my quiet town, I devote myself to advocating for bees and planting trees to enhance the environment we all share. Among the many efforts, I maintain fruit trees in my garden, providing essential nourishment for bees and a sanctuary for diverse wildlife. This commitment has yielded heartening results; I have witnessed a brood of hedgehogs successfully raised in my yard, a testament to the thriving ecosystem supported by my endeavours. I take genuine pride in contributing as much as I can to foster a healthier, more vibrant natural world right here at home.

For every piece of artwork sold, I am committed to planting a tree, contributing directly to environmental protection. This initiative ensures that each creation not only brings beauty into your space but also supports the restoration and preservation of our natural world. Together, we can make art a catalyst for positive ecological impact.

Chronic illness.

Struggles and belief.

Since 2006, I was unable to work due to a trapped nerve in the lining of my stomach wall, a condition that eventually led to the development of fibromyalgia including hyper-mobility since birth, with development of osteoarthritis. These chronic health issues profoundly impacted my everyday life, presenting ongoing pain and challenges. Throughout this difficult and often painful period, I found solace in painting, which became a crucial outlet for therapy and self-expression. As time passed, my mental health steadily improved, and my pain became more manageable, allowing me to slowly rebuild my confidence and renew my belief in my artistic talents. This deeply transformative journey has fueled my passion to share my artwork with a broader audience and to pursue a meaningful career as an artist, offering my fine art and illustrations to others who might find inspiration, comfort, or connection through them.

Advocating for those with hidden illnesses, such as fibromyalgia and other chronic conditions, is essential to fostering understanding and compassion. Living with pain that is unseen can be incredibly isolating, especially when met with disbelief or scepticism. This struggle often takes a profound toll on mental health, compounding the everyday challenges faced by individuals. By raising awareness and encouraging empathy, we can create a community where those with invisible illnesses feel heard, supported, and validated. Ensuring that others truly understand these silent battles is a vital step towards greater acceptance and improved wellbeing for all.
